"My wife Nancy and I are settling into our newly remodeled, soon to be retirement home, on Howe Island. And it’s beautiful. Over the winter Ben Greenless performed a total make over. The entire interior is new: paint, doors and trim, bathrooms and kitchen, and hardwood and ceramic throughout. All the windows were replaced along with the main exterior door. Two new windows facing the water were added. All the fixtures are new and all of the plugs and switches have been modernized. A kitchen wall was removed to create a more open concept with a view of the water.

We are very happy with the working relationship we’ve had with Ben. In the planning stages, Ben’s design skills proved invaluable. He gets credit for the spectacular open kitchen with more cupboard capacity than before. Nancy and I had struggled with how to deal with the kitchen to no avail. Ben came up with the solution. Now we love to hang out in the kitchen!

As Nancy and I were in Ottawa, it was necessary to communicate using e-mail and the telephone. We really appreciated Ben’s consultative style. Ben was very responsive to mid-stream ideas that we came up with and always touched base on ideas he came up with along the way, as well as issues he encountered and options.

Finally, we are really impressed with the quality of workmanship. The hardwood and ceramic floors are flawless. The fit of the trim, doors and windows is perfect. With all those corners, there isn’t an open seam in the house.
